Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the key to the success of USTA Arkansas.  

USTA Arkansas is committed to ensuring a diverse and talented pool of volunteers and encourages you to apply to serve as a volunteer for USTA Arkansas. 

If you would like to join the USTA Arkansas team, please complete the application below so that we may best utilize your skills and knowledge while providing you with positive volunteering experience. Thank you so much for offering to volunteer for our organization!   

 

Junior Team Tennis Committee, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Awards Committee, Junior Competitive Tennis Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Grievance Committee applications for 2021-2022 now open. Deadline to apply is December 15, 2020.

 

 Qualifications & Expectations 

 

-Applicant must be a member in good standing of the USTA

-Applicant must be a resident of the Arkansas district

-Applicant must have a strong desire to grow and improve tennis

-Applicant must complete a background check and Safe Play Training

-Committee appointments are a two-year commitment. Representatives are needed from throughout the state.   

-Committee members must attend meetings quarterly or as called

Committee Descriptions

 

-The Junior Competitive Council shall supervise, plan and/or implement the junior competitive tennis activities under the purview of the ATA. It shall be the reporting body to the Board of Directors on all junior competitive tennis activities.

 

-The Diversity & Inclusion Committee shall be responsible for growing the game through support and engagement with strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives such as increasing representation of emerging market populations on boards, committees, and staff to attract and retain USTA members and players from those populations. It shall be the reporting body to the Board of Directors on all diversity and inclusion activities.

 

- The Grievance Committee shall be responsible for enforcing the Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, all rules and regulations of the ATA, STA, and USTA Standards of good conduct, fair play and good sportsmanship.

 

The USTA Arkansas College Scholarship Committee reviews all received scholarship applications and makes decisions for awarding scholarship funds.

Volunteer to help at the Penick Boys & Girls Club!  This after school program is held each Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5 pm.
