Arkansas NTRP/Adult Point System
Arkansas NTRP and Open/Age Division adult tennis players earn points by playing in USTA sanctioned tournaments in Arkansas. A player can play as many tournaments as desired, but only the best five (5) in a 12-month period will count towards a player’s point total. Points will be calculated on a 12-month rolling system (beginning with 1/1/2012 play), i.e. points earned more than 12 months ago will not count toward a player’s current point total. In addition to the rolling 12-month ranking, year-end rankings for all divisions with qualifying players will be posted on the Arkansas Tennis Association website.
Standings and rankings for men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed divisions will be calculated and maintained separately. Additionally, points for Adult and Senior will be calculated and maintained separately. Points are accumulated by division (NTRP level, Open, Age Division), i.e. points earned in one division are not carried over to other divisions. If a player’s NTRP level changes during the ranking year, that player’s name will be removed from the standing list at the player’s previous level. However, for the purpose of year-end rankings, the points that the player earned at every level played during the calendar year will be considered.
Doubles and Mixed Doubles players will earn points as individuals. Each partner will earn the number of points indicated below. Doubles and Mixed Doubles rankings will be shown as individuals, not as pairs.
Defaults, withdrawals, and walkovers will count as wins for the opponent(s), and points will be awarded for that match. Main draw byes will earn points if and only if the next round is won. Consolation draw byes do not earn points. The points for semifinal, championship, and consolation championship wins are in lieu of, and not in addition to, points for a win in the draw. Round robin winners will not receive Champion points.

The following points will be earned by singles players and each member of a doubles team. Points for “One Day” tournaments will be ½ of the points listed. Point totals will be updated after each tournament on the Arkansas Tennis Association website.
