The safety of your child is important to us. All parents,
coaches, and volunteers that are listed as a team
coach/captain or co-captain in the USTA Jr. Team Tennis TennisLink system are REQUIRED to go through a
Background Screening Process before they are permitted
to coach or participate in a Jr. Team Tennis activity, such
as a practice session, match or tournament.

An online training course is provided by USTA Southern.
All league coordinators, coaches, and captains shall be
required to complete the online safety course before
they are permitted to coach or participate in a Jr. Team
Tennis team or activity. *Valid for 2 years
|

|
TennisLink serves as the online registration process for
Jr. Team Tennis. It also provides registration for up to
two coaches/captains per team. The individual, who is
the primary contact for the team, and assuming team management and/or coaching responsibility, shall be
listed as the Coach/Captain. If another individual will
have regular and continuous contact with the team,
he or she shall be entered in TennisLink as the
co-captain.
TennisLink is also where captains will access player
contact information, record scores, view match schedule,
and so much more.

What Levels to Play in Jr. Team Tennis
USTA Southern has developed tools to assist local programs, team managers, team captains and players to determine which level players should play in USTA Jr. Team Tennis. Captains should use the following tools to determine at which level their players belong.

*NTRP is the National Tennis Rating program, which defines the characteristics of a player's level and is the official system for determining the levels of competition for USTA Jr. Team Tennis.
BEGINNER
· *NTRP 2.0 & below; generally, new players of all ages
· All eligible beginner teams are invited to State Championships. This level does not compete for advancement to Sectional or National Championships.
INTERMEDIATE
· *NTRP 3.0 & below; player is fairly consistent when hitting medium paced shots, but is not comfortable with all strokes and lacks execution when trying for directional control, depth, and power.
· Players must play in the Advanced division of Jr. Team Tennis if they are listed on the USTA Southern Section 1-300 Standing List for 12s - 18s or the 1-100 Standing List for 10s as of July 31st preceding the current JTT Championship Year (Aug. 1 - July 31). Check players now!
· All eligible intermediate teams are invited to State Championships. Intermediate teams who win at State may advance to Sectional Championships.
ADVANCED
· *NTRP 3.5 & above; player has achieved stroke dependability with directional control on moderate shots, exhibits more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage, and is developing teamwork in doubles.
· Players must play in the Advanced division of Jr. Team Tennis if they are listed on the USTA Southern Section 1-300 Standing List for 12s - 18s or the 1-100 Standing List for 10s as of July 31st preceding the current JTT Championship Year (Aug. 1 - July 31). Check players now!
· All eligible advanced teams are invited to State Championships. Advanced teams who win at State may advance to Sectional Championships.
