2015 Arkansas Tennis Hall of Fame Inductee

John S. Bailey

It is with great pleasure that we introduce our 2015 Arkansas Tennis Hall of Fame inductee, John S. Bailey.  John is a pillar of our community but more specifically, he is a pillar of Arkansas Tennis.

John began playing tennis at an early age and had a stellar junior career culminating into a Division 1 scholarship playing in his home state for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.

As an adult, John has remained an avid player. He has played on multiple USTA League Adult and Mixed Doubles teams reaching the USTA Southern Sectional finals of the Senior Adult League and USTA National finals of Senior Mixed Doubles.  He continues regular play in Central Arkansas on 4.5/5.0 USTA Leagues.

John has supported tennis in other ways besides playing the game he loves. He has been an active Patron and Board Member for the Arkansas Tennis Patron’s Foundation for 22 years. John was also very instrumental in the Burns Park Tennis Center upgrades that were made several years ago. He and his company have sponsored countless tennis events/tournaments in Arkansas and have also been a sponsor for the Arkansas Tennis Association.  John has also served on the Arkansas Tennis Association Grievance and Hall of Fame Committees.

John is known for both tenacity and fairness on the court. The same can be said for John off the court. He is a perfect example of someone who not only receives from, but gives back to the game of tennis, his sport of a lifetime.

John will be presented into the Arkansas Tennis Hall of Fame during the Arkansas Annual Tennis Weekend on January 9 & 10, 2015. The Hall of Fame dinner will be held Friday evening at the Hilton Garden Inn in North Little Rock.
