     Crystal started playing tennis in Monticello with her sister when she was 16.  She played on the first Monticello High School girls' team as a senior in 1975. A year later, she played on the first women's team at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she was regional runner-up in 1978. Following college, Crystal began participating in USTA League tennis. She has played on adult, senior, mixed, combo and tri-level teams. She has played on five teams that received the title of Southern Sectional Champion. In addition, Crystal's mixed team won a regional championship in 1995. 

     In 2001, Crystal became USPTA certified. Since then, she has been teaching tennis in Monticello and Southeast Arkansas. She also serves as the local league coordinator for that area of the state.  She received the Victor Sheshunoff Meritorious Education Award in 2006 and was selected as the Arkansas Tennis Professional of the Year in 2009. In addition to these honors, Crystal served as the President of USTA Arkansas for the 2015-2016 term.

     Crystal has represented Arkansas in Senior Cup competition in women's 35s, 45s, and 55s. She has also captained the Arkansas women's team the past two years.
