Randy Jackson and Jenifer Tucker Nominated to Serve USTA Southern


 

 Randy Jackson; President & CEO; Fort Smith, Ark.

jackson_schwartz_nominated_092420_682x332Randy Jackson has been nominated to serve as the 2021-2022 USTA Southern President & CEO. He is presently serving a two-year term as Executive Vice President. Previously, Jackson served as Vice President for three terms after serving as a Director at Large. He is currently serving as Chair of the USTA Local Play and Competition Committee and previously served as the Chair of the USTA Junior Team Tennis Committee. He is a board member of the Arkansas Patrons Foundation and is presently serving as Co-Chair of the USTA Southern Local Leader Liaison Task Force. Prior positions with USTA Southern include chairing the USTA Southern Volunteer Recruitment and Development Task Force, the USTA Southern Governance Ad Hoc Committee, and the USTA Southern Junior Safety Ad Hoc Committee. In 2005-06 he served as President of USTA Arkansas, and was inducted into the Arkansas Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012. Jackson is married to Leslie Jackson who is also heavily involved in the Arkansas and Southern Tennis Association. Leslie helped to organize the Western Arkansas Tennis Association and served as their ED from 2003-2009. Leslie has volunteered with many programs, has been the WATA JTT Coordinator, and a USTA Official since 2000. Leslie received many awards for her work in the Tennis Association, including being inducted into the Arkansas Tennis Hall of Fame in 2016. Randy and Leslie have three children; Cassie Jackson Dyer, Samuel Jackson & Hannah Jackson Cheek. They all began playing tennis at young ages, participating in Junior Team Tennis and tournaments.  They played on the Varsity squads at Southside High School in Fort Smith, AR, and at Hendrix College. Samuel worked as the USTA Arkansas Junior Team Tennis State Coordinator from 2010-2012 and currently serves as a 2019-2020 USTA Arkansas Board member and Chairperson of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Samuel is an avid League player and was honored as the USTA AR League Captain of the Year for 2019.  Hannah and Samuel have both volunteered as Junior Team Tennis Captains. Cassie, a pediatrician, and her husband, Walker live in Bentonville and have two children.  Sam, an attorney,  and his wife Jillian live in Little Rock and are expecting their first child in November.  Hannah, Director of a pre-school, and her husband, David live in Fayetteville and have two children.  All three of their spouses have begun playing tennis, and two are League players and volunteer as League captains. The Jackson Family was awarded the 2001 USTA Arkansas, USTA Southern, and USTA National Family of the Year. Join us in congratulating Randy Jackson!

 

Jenifer Tucker; Nominating Committee; Fayetteville, Ark.

87574048_10221826940612091_447044802035318784_nJenifer Tucker has been nominated to serve on the USTA Southern Nominating Committee. Tucker  is currently serving as an Ex-Officio on the 2019-2020 Board of Directors of the Arkansas Tennis Association, and as a Trustee for the USTA Southern Tennis Foundation. She is also currently serving on the USTA National Constitution and Rules Committee. Previously, she held the role of President for the USTA Arkansas Board of Directors in 2017-2018, and prior to that, the offices of  First Vice President and Secretary. She first volunteered for USTA Arkansas as the Northwest Arkansas Local League Coordinator. Tucker is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and University of Arkansas School of Law. She has served as a member of the USTA Southern Grievance Committee and the USTA Southern Adult League Committee. She has also served as the chair of the USTA Arkansas Adult League Committee. Tucker was recently awarded the 2019 Gerrie Rothwell Award that is presented annually to a volunteer within the USTA Southern Section who has demonstrated outstanding service and dedication to the USTA League program.
