USTA Southern is proud to offer an exciting format to short sets format known as Fast4 Tennis. The alternative format focuses on a few simple rules:
- The first to four games wins the set
- No-ad scoring is used
- Service lets are played
- First-to-five-point tiebreakers apply at 3 games all
Fast4 format gives players more matches in less time, allows tournaments to take only one or two days, and players have loved the exciting fast pace of the matches.
NTRP Fast4 National Qualifiers
Every year, USTA Southern hosts four championships in this exciting format now in three age levels: 18 & over, 40 & Over, and 55 & over. By using the innovative Fast4 format, the NTRP Qualifiers have become the fastest-growing Southern championships. They utilize NTRP Ratings with divisions 3.0-4.5 for Men and Women in 40 & Over and 55 & Over. The 18 & Over division uses NTRP ratings 3.0-5.0.
The NTRP National Champions are crowned in men’s and women’s singles and doubles at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 levels in both 18 & over, 40 & Over, and 55 & over age groups, as well as at the 5.0 level in the 18 & over division. 2.5 division will also be offered, but will not advance.
