Our House Volunteering
Our House is a shelter for families who are temporarily homeless. In the past, USTA Arkansas has donated tennis equipment and worked with Our House staff to offer basic training on fundamentals and court set up. Our House then began offering their kids tennis field trips a couple of days a month.
The kids absolutely loved it and wanted the opportunity to play on real tennis courts with instruction from real teaching professionals. We were able to offer these children the opportunity to attend another field trip with real teaching professionals. During these field trips, the teaching professionals showed them how to use good form when hitting the ball, along with teaching them skills such as quickness when reacting during a match. These kids were able to play many games that can help them improve their skills as a tennis player but also show them just how much fun tennis can really be.
